My stress levels are higher than ever since I had kids. I wish I was exaggerating. A 1 year old who only sleep on my lap and in my bed and not in her cot, a challenging 3 year old who never does a thing she's told. Lack of sleep. Repeated illnesses coming home from nursery leading to being housebound... my stress levels rocket. Tisserand's PR company must've read my mind when they sent me the Tisserand De-Stress Pulse Oil to try out.
Firstly it smells delicious. Absolutely delicious. I may have been using it more than necessary because I like the smell. For those who are afraid of patchouli and associate it with "hippies", this is very subtle, far stronger are the scents of orange and rose. I like patchouli though. Yum.
So does it work? Hmm I'm not very good at this kind of thing but you know, I think it does. I think it helps because you stop and take deep breaths of the fragrance. Deep breathing of course calms you down, and smelling nice things lifts the spirits a little bit. However, when the three year old has just walloped the sleeping one year old on my knee and I'm shrieking like a fishwife, I don't think there's a product on the planet that will calm me down. So, for moderate stresses and general stressed feelings, yes I think it works, for high stress levels where you've already lost your cool... I don't think so, although a dab of this in the aftermath of your meltdown might just help you return to a more relaxed state, quicker.
