British Beauty Blogger very kindly sent me Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero-Smudge Curling Mascara ages ago.
It’s quite possible I’m not the best person to review this product. Curling is not an effect my lashes require.
My eyelashes already curl so much that the tips leave smudges of wet mascara on my upper lids. It’s just not something I have a problem with (lack of curl that is) and in fact I might as well just say from the off I couldn’t see any curling at all as a result of using this mascara, but I would very much like to see how it works on someone with little or no curl to their lashes.
However, despite that, I think it’s a worthy product. Here’s a picture of it on:
It’s dramatic, doesn’t clump (so far) and looks effective.
There is a problem, the brush is curved to the shape of your eye and it’s extremely difficult for me to reach my very curly corner lashes with it, it’s possible but requires some effort.
What really did interest me was the Double Wear, Zero Smudge part of the name and it’s these areas where, for me, the product really excels. I applied my mascara at 8.30am this morning. It’s now 9.50pm. It still looks immaculate. Honest to god it does. My eyeliner has long since departed but my mascara is still there and doing a sterling job I might add. The other thing I noticed, which for me is a definite plus, is that when I apply my mascara it doesn’t transfer when wet to my upper lid, like every single other mascara I have ever used does, to varying degrees.
Yes, this mascara is a definite win. Long wearing, smudge proof and dramatic looking. For curling effects I can’t comment, if it had have worked on my lashes I shudder to think what I might have looked like, each lash with a perfect 80’s spiral perm perhaps? But if you long for a bit more curl in your lashes it’s got to be worth a go, even if they don’t curl, the other benefits would save it from being a waste of money.
