Another Top Products of the Year Post.

 Morning all.

Hope you all had a fab Christmas!

It's one of those times of year where you start reading the same kinds of posts on all the blogs you read and Lady of the Lane is no different ;)

Yes it's time for my top products of 2010 post. It's not comprehensive, and I'm sure as soon as this post goes up I'll think of things I missed out!

Anyway, it's going to be a long enough post already without my rambling on so I'll crack on with it :)

Firstly my top skincare. Without a doubt Estee Lauder. You can find my reviews for these products HERE and HERE. I reviewed the bulk of these products in June and it's December, other brands have come and gone and I'm still in love. I'm on my second Advanced Night Repair Eye stuff and my second Time Zone Moisturiser, the others are still going strong (Advance Night Repair Serum, Perfectionist [CP+] Wrinkle Lifting Serum and Time Zone Eye Cream). I love this stuff so much. Other brands I've tried have been good, but every time I've gone back to this stuff. Honourable mentions must go to Organic Surge for being the nicest High Street stuff ever and to Clinique Laser Focus Repair Wear Serum for being awesome too.

Next up is  Lush Ocean Salt Facial Scrub.
Been using it for years. Still my absolute favourite and best face scrub. Nothing scrubs me as well or leaves me feeling as clean, nor is so much like a margarita cocktail. You can find my original review HERE.  It's not the faint hearted this. It's not one of those sissy scrubs that have about three soft jojoba beads in about a tablespoon of shower gel, this is salt, lots and lots of it, and it's ROCK salt. Possibly not one for sensitive skins.

Then next is the Alpha-H Liquid Gold Smoothing and Perfecting Mask
I won't talk about this in any great detail since my review went up only a few days ago but the best mask I have ever used. Instant results. And worthy of my top picks of 2010.

Now on to make up products, starting with foundation and powder. Actually was a bit tricky as there are actually several foundations that I really love. I have 8 on the go upstairs at the moment. The one I reach for the most though is Clinique Anti Blemish Solutions. My full review is HERE and the bottle is now nearly empty which means it's the one I reach for most often. Great coverage and it lasts a really long time.

Honourable mentions to Lancome Teint Miracle for being glowy and radiant and beautiful and I bought a bottle of Estee Lauder Double Wear the other day (not my first, but the first one that is actually the right shade for me) and I'm smitten.

Then the other product which is a blogger favourite I think is the Mac Mineralize Skin Finish Natural in Medium Light which is perfect. It stays put all day, doesn't lean orange, and gives a really natural finish. I really love this!

Then I absolutely have to rate the Mac Pearl Matte Face powder from the Mac in Lilyland collection earlier in 2010. I don't think I reviewed this at the time but I did use it in my contouring video the other day.

I use this virtually daily, either to contour, bronze, or I pick out the individual shades to blush, highlight or even eyeshadow.

I might cry a bit when I hit pan on this one! It's just such a convenient product to have although I'm sure it wasn't remotely popular at the time and I'm the only person I've ever heard talk about it never mind rave about it, but for me it definitely makes the list.

ELF Brow Kit:
I'm on my third. No other brow product compares for me and aside from brushes, the only thing I've ever bought from ELF that I like.

Next up my favourite eye products. Two paint pots. Soft Ochre and Blackground. A late find for me but used daily. The Soft Ochre I use as a base and it is my eyelid colour. The Blackground I use either alone as I do HERE or as a base for dark loose shadows. I love both. They last all day and don't crease on me. I always apply with fingers.

Next is the Guerlain Kohl in Noir. I use this several times a week, it's effective, long lasting and gorgeous. I love all the kohl's I have but Noir is my most frequently used.

And finally for the eye products is Chanel Inimitable in black. I'm on my third one. Again, I have somehow ended up with approximately 10 mascaras, all of which are used in varying degrees, but this is my most used and my favourite.

Finally for make up, Revlon Smoked Peach Lipstick:
Very bright and matte. I love this so much. I love it with smokey eyes especially. My lipstick of the year. And yes thats over and above my Tom Ford.
Nail Products:
I couldn't choose a polish. Too many to choose from! So first up is Mavala Nailactan. My full review is HERE but if you want fab cuticles and strong flexible nails I think you need this.  The other product is of course Seche Vite. It's not perfect, hello gloopy mess and tip shrinkage but I need my nails to dry quickly because I never know when I'll need to pick up a crying 18 month old and touch dry in a few minutes is a godsend. I'm on my fourth bottle this year. It does go gloopy about half way down but I bought a bottle of Restore and a few drops of that and it's perfect again, I also find I can't easily reach the bottom cm or so with the brush so I wait until I have a couple of bottles of gloopy left overs, pour them into one, add my Restore and hey presto, good to go again.

Aromatherapy Associates Enrich Body Butter.
I only recently reviewed this. It's decadent and delicious. I'm saving mine for special occasions in order to make it last. Mmmm. I LOVE it.

Liz Earle Foot Spritzer:
Addictive. The product of the Summer. Will buy this a million times over. Not least because its one of the only foot products that I've ever used that hasn't left my toes damp and invite Athlete's Foot (eeeew). Full review HERE.

Liz Earle Botanical Essence No1 Perfume:
The best everyday perfume this year. Love it and have worn it to death. Always always get comments on it when I'm wearing it :)

And lastly a frivolous item, the Aromatherapy Associates Comfort Candle:
The candle is comforting, but I think it's comforting and very very sexy. If you fancy indulging yourself, you need this. Full review HERE. Honourable mention goes to Connock London for the beautiful Kukui Candle.

So that's it! My top picks for 2010, do you have any of these and do you rate them? Or Otherwise? Or are any on your wishlist? I wonder what will be on the list this time next year, although I don't much fancy doing another post like this, it was a bit stressful!

  4. I think I'm the only person in the world who doesn't find Advanced Night Repair all that impressive (especially considering the price), but I LOVE CP+. Oh my goodness, what that stuff did for my forehead wrinkles!
