Bicky does Beauty Bloggers Best Things

Yay! Another week and another lovely blogger joins me to share with me their best things in beauty and blogging.

This week it's the utterly fabulous Bicky from www.tasteslikeglitter.com. I actually refuse to believe that there's anyone out there that isn't already aware of Bicky and her awesome skillz, but if you do live on another planet and for some reason haven't found her yet, please do go and check out her blog.

I'm also especially pleased to have Bicky here as I think she's going to be the first Blogger I will actually meet in real life as she's pretty much the only one living in the same county as me!

Anyway, lets get on with it!

Can you talk me through your daily skin care regimen, which products you use and why?

I really don't think I have much of an interesting routine. I use MAC's Green Gel Cleanser or Elizabeth's Daughter cleanser. Followed my a Decleor Matte toner, which smells amazing! And then a combination of Lush's Celestial or Vanishing Cream. And then if I feel any dreaded spots coming up I pop some Cellnique Sebum Gel on it before it has time to properly come up. When I remember I exfoliate with MAC's Microfine Refinisher. Just the right amount of 'scrub' for me.

I also use Cellnique's Skin Purifying Masque once a week before I shower. It kind of resembles snot, not nice I know! Leave it on for 20 minutes, wash it off in the shower and I have super soft skin and it feels like all my pores have vanished.

What shampoo and conditioner are you devoted to?
I've been using TIGI Bed Head for about a year now because I bought salon sized bottles. I need to use SLS free shampoo and conditioner otherwise it irritates my hair. I really liek the brand and their ethics as they like to make sure none of the suppliers they buy from test the individual ingredient on animals.

Although saying that, I'm running low and have seen (and smelt) something gorgeous in Sainsbury's! It's called Happy Hair Days. They don't have any parabens or sulphates in and have a really gentle formula. Plus the colour one is marshmallow and coconut scented! Smells so good. I think I'll be purchasing that next.

What about your top three make up brands generally speaking?
MAC, Illamasqua and Urban Decay. No need to even think about those!

Ok some specifics now!

What is your favourite foundation and why?
I've only really used MAC's Studio Fix in the last couple of years, both fluid and powder. Honestly the colouring of the powder is less 'orangey' but I prefer the texture and coverage of the fluid. It really does cover everything!

What is your favourite mascara and why?
I'm still trying to find my favourite. I think one that I most like is Dior Blackout, for it's volume and it's kohl blackness but I also love MAC's Zoom Lash because it really ddefines every lash.

Although I am looking forward to Bourjois's new rotating mascara!

What one product do you think every cosmetic aficionado should have in their collection?
ONE?!?! The Urban Decay Naked palette. That counts right? After all, it is only one product, technically. Although technically not. Either way it's full of gorgeous colours that can take you from a really subtle look to something really dramatic. And the UD shadows are buttery smooth to apply. Seriously, go buy!

I love finding new blogs so please before you go, please recommend three of your favourite bloggers.
It's hard choosing only 3, since I have so many favourite but right now:
http://www.emeraldsparkled.com/ I adore her nails, I'm jealous I want them. And her nail art looks fabulous. Even down to her swatches, she has it spot on.
http://www.lipglossiping.com/ Bit of a no brainer, if you don't follow Charlotte already, YOU SHOULD!
http://www.lilooblog.blogspot.com/ So jealous of her make up skills!

It was really difficult to choose since I love all the blogs I follow!

And that's it! Thanks so much to Bicky. Several things I have to say in response, firstly, great blog choices, secondly, I don't have the Naked palette... do I really need it? Thirdly, that Happy Days hair stuff sounds awesome. Thank you for doing this, it's still my favourite blog feature which leads me neatly onto...

...I'm very sad. I have no more bloggers taking part in BBBT, so I need you! If you'd like to be a part of this, please please drop me a line at charlie@ladyofthelane.com. I'd love to hear from you and I'll be very sad if BBBT is all over!

  1. Oh I hope you do find new bloggers to interview soon. My blog is pretty much brand new otherwise I'd stick my hand up for volunteering!

    Good luck with the search.

  4. Hi, sorry to be a party pooper but TIGI should not be lauded for their attitude towards animal testing. Although they do not test the completed products on animals, they do not guarantee that their ingredients haven't been. The Bed Head range is excellent, but is not likely to be cruelty free.
