Illamasqua Toxic Nature FotD

I'm sorry Illamasqua. I fail to do these products any justice at all. I've been playing around with the products I was sent recently (swatched here). I wanted to try using Hollow Cream Pigment as a contour product and Emerge Cream Pigment on my cheeks and lips and see how they worked. I can't make them work on my eyes at all, they are all kinds of wrong but I still have a couple of things to try so stay tuned. In the mean time I'm wearing Glister Precision Liner in these pics too.

Sorry there are heaps of pictures, Glister Liner, Hollow Cream Pigment to contour, Emerge (topped with clear gloss) on lips and cheeks. The sun was directly on my face and makes me look a bit orange in a couple of these but hopefully you can see on the third pic that I haven't actually been tangoed!

So as you can probably see, Emerge makes a lovely lippie colour and provided it's used with a light touch, I really like it on my cheeks too, but Hollow I can't make work for me at all! I have applied under my cheekbones, I was subtle at first, couldn't see it, added more, blended out, still couldn't see it, added more....then got scared to add any more. I don't think I have obvious toffee stripes, nor can I see any evidence of contouring, can you?

And if you're interested, here's a closer look at Glister Precision Liner. I totally failed to pick up the lovely purple shimmer, but it is there, gorgeous product. Very very unusual but I'm a fan.

When I think of Illamasqua I think of drama and art, neither of which are displayed in my use of the products, but regardless, poor contouring aside, I quite like the look here. Its soft and natural, which is different for me since I rock the heavy smokey eye pretty much all day every day.
