As they do, they periodically produce "looks" itemising all the products used and the latest look is A Cappella. A Cappella is all about the nude and natural face and the products they recommend to create this look are as follows:
FACE

METAMORPHOSES Mattifiying Primer
NAKED DISGUISE Glide Concealer
FINE-SPUN LIGHT Luminous Skin Wand
EYES
EYES WIDE OPEN Brightening Liner Duo

SMITHEREENS OF STARS Eye Gloss ‘Angels Play’

Now I don't have all of those products but I was sent a few samples to have a play with.
L-R - Prelude in the Clouds Aqua Primer, Metamorphoses Mattifying Primer, Deliquesce Make-Up Melt Cleanser and Seas of Illumination Highlighting Liquid in Sea of Nectar.
A close up of the Highlighting Liquid
I was also sent Silk Aether Long-lasting Cream Eye Shadow in Brocade Skipper.
And here are swatches of the Cream Eye Shadow and the Highlighting Liquid.
So using these products (although only one of the primers (the Aqua Primer)) and a selection of RBR products I already I own I attempted to create a nude look of my own.
Alas I didn't do a great job, and I took even worse photos (hello double chin!) but still here it is.
I used the Aqua Primer, Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser, on my cheeks and lips I used the RBR Decadent Duo in Tango - Argentino, the Liquid Highlighter on my cheekbones and on my eyes I used the Cream Shadow in Brocade Skipper and added just a touch of Rouge Bunny Rouge Long-lasting eye Shadow in Tantalising Lovebird in the crease and that was it. I must say it does make a very refreshing change to wear such a natural look! You know me and my heavy eye make up!
So what of the products I was sent to try, well, lets start with the cream eyeshadow. Brocade Skipper, it's a champagne kind of a shade and not something I'd wear alone but it works amazingly with other colours or as a base. I wore it all day and it was still firmly in place with no creasing at the end of the day. Fab product, I'm tempted to get the grey one next, Batiste Grayling.
Next, the primers. Well they both work very well but I'm head over heels in love with the Aqua Primer, Prelude in the Clouds. What can I say... well firstly you guys know I've been moaning about light foundations clogging on my nose and making it look a) like it has huge pores and b) very flaky? Well this stuff fixes it. I've now tried all the foundations that haven't worked for me with this primer and the problem is no more. Not only that but it feels fab on. It is, as the name suggests, water based and is weightless on your skin. Secondly, it's not matte. I do like the Mattifying Primer I was also sent a sample of, but really this is the one, it keeps my make up looking fresh and natural. Lastly my make up stays put. No shiny nose at the end of the day with no foundation left on it. This just keeps it there. I cannot sing the praises of this enough. As such I'm about to order a full size bottle from www.zuneta.com (when I can make up my mind which other bits I want). And that is the downside, this miracle in a bottle is £48. I'll pay it though. Not bothered, I'm so amazed by it!
And lastly the Liquid Highlighter. Well, in the pot this just looks scarily dark for me and very shimmery. I literally dabbed the end of my finger into the pot and and patted along my cheekbone and it just melts in...amazing. I want to order this in another shade but I'm a bit put off by the fact it's a pump bottle and actually I need such a minute amount I think it could be wasteful. Going to mull that purchase over for a while, but the product itself is wonderful.
So before I go, there were a few other things I quickly wanted to mention and might as well do it all in one post!
There's a new Gentle Cleansing Water added to the range "Captured Mist of Serenity", designed for sensitive skin but suitable for all it includes Cornflower water to calm. Would love to try this but I fear I need to get through the other bottles of cleansing waters I have here first.
There are also new Long-lasting Eye Pencils "Feline Gaze" that are waterproof apparently. There are three colours, but the one I have my eye on is the gorgeous sounding Salome. A creamy jet black base with light pure silver and aqua blue reflection. Sounds so good!
Anyway, I won't go on any more, although I easily could. I just need to get on and decide what I want to buy in addition to the Aqua Primer and go shopping!
All products are available from the fabulous www.zuneta.com.
Disclaimer - Many of the items mentioned above are PR Samples, however, the Decadent Duo and Long Lasting Eye Shadow were purchased myself and reviews can be found elsewhere on this blog :)

Oh I love the RBR cream shadows, definitely get the grey one! I also wear Atlas Swallowtail almost everyday (so sadly it has no pretty much run out). I really hate spending money on what I perceive as boring products like primers etc but this one sounds excellent. Just so expensive! x
ReplyDeleteI love the beautiful packaging, it's good to hear that this time around you're impressed with the products :) I'm never entirely sure what a primer is, but you certainly look fab in the pictures, so maybe it's time for me to investigate :)
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to leave a comment since you posted this but to no avail - hopefully I will be able to now fingers crossed. I have yet to try RB at all to my shame, but I think you do yourself a diservice because I really like the neutral look here - you have managed to create a really clean look without it being boring, there is a difference in both shade and texture and I think it looks very flattering. ReplyDeleteJust reread your post and have a question. I have quite oily skin but a similar problem as you with foundation on the nose not working at all. Which primer do you think would be better, the mattifying or the the other one? Am considering a Zuneta order as nearly out of my Laura Mercier oil free one. Would much prefer to spend money on pretty eyeshadow and lipstick but if you are convinced by this primer, that's enough for me! xx
