Jo Malone London Blooms Collection - Iris & Lady Moore

Three new Jo Malone Limited Edition Colognes. Peony & Moss, White Lilac & Rhubarb and Iris & Lady Moore.

First of all will you just look at the most beautiful bottle. This particular bottle is  Peony & Moss and each bottle is decorated with the title ingredients. Gorgeous. There's something old fashioned about it, in a good way.

So the London Blooms collection is based on British Gardens. The official descriptions for the fragrances are as follows:

Peony & Moss
A contrast of the dainty and the dirty. Delicate peony, clad in the moist earthiness of moss. Laced with cordial-intense cassis. Encircled with ivy. A fragrance of gossamer lightness, grounded in rich verdancy.

White Lilac & Rhubarb
A celebration of seductive contrasts beloved by modern gardeners. Tart-vibrant rhubarb cuts through delicate florals. The softness of lilac. The femininity of rose. And the almond scent of sun-loving heliotrope.

Iris & Lady Moore
A fascinating mingling of spicy-fresh, common-or-garden geranium and noble iris, powdery and poised. Two characterful purple florals, rustling above an elegant dry-grass bed of vetiver.

So based on those descriptions my first choice would have to be the amazing sounding Peony & Moss which sounds absolutely to die for. Followed then by White Lilac & Rhubarb which also sounds fab with my last choice being Iris & Lady Moore. It's fair to say that when the you receive a Jo Malone sample there's no such thing as disappointed though. It's always a delight.

So Iris & Lady Moore, it's floral and normally floral perfumes aren't my thing but something about this really works. I think the Vetiver base really works on this one and although it does smell really floral, its a clean crisp kind of floral, it's not what I'd call heady or heavy. It's hard to describe if you're as inept as I am at fragrance descriptions. It's floral, but it's a clean floral and not too heavy or heady. But there's a depth that comes from the vetiver, and I just love vetiver... so this fragrance, although it shouldn't be my cup of tea, turns out to be exactly my cup of tea and the best thing about it is that it really stays around all day on me. It's beautiful.

So of course now I'm thinking if I really like the one I thought I'd like the least I'm going to absolutely adore the ones I liked the sounds of the most. Particularly Peony & Moss. Peony! Moss! Cassis! Ivy! Oh but then there's White Lilac and Rhubarb. Rhubarb! Lilac! Rose! Heliotrope! These 100ml bottles are £72 and Limited Edition. Available in March. I'd best get saving!

  1. My oh my, well I was lucky enough to sniff all three last week, and am now majorly lemming some Wild Lilac & Rhubarb. It's bright, sunny and refreshing and I"m sure it will be perfect in the heat. Split, anyone? :-D

  4. White lilac and Rhubarb sounds amazing, I don't actually think the price is too bad for 100ml either.
