Sadly, I wasn't able to attend the event but I was lucky enough to receive a couple of the products, hence this post.
Pixi isn't a brand I'd ever really looked at I have to be honest, but when I saw this collection I just HAD to try it. I don't even love Tinkerbell, although she is particularly popular with my 5 year old, but somehow the packaging of these products just really called my name and I think its stunningly beautiful. Just look at these outer boxes.
It's like a grown up Tink. She's SO beautiful and the gorgeous whimsical packaging is stunning. There are few pieces in this collection, I have two of them.
First up the Fairy Face Palette in Pixi Bell (£32)
I can't even tell you how beautiful this is. It's just gorgeous. It's solid too, it doesn't feel flimsy, even though it's plastic, it feels solid and sturdy. Open it up and inside you'll find this.
Five eyeshadows and five lip creams, each with a brush/sponge applictor and when you open it further you'll find a blush and brush.
Now for the swatches.
The eyeshadows are beautiful and really well pigmented. The lip cremes are on the sheer-er side but are actually quite buildable for a deeper shade.
Here's a closer look at those eye shadows.
Then there's the blusher swatches, I've swatched the colours separately. (below left is another product).
I don't know why the cheek colour swatches are so sheer, because you'll see on my cheeks that the blush actually has plenty of pigment.
The other product I was sent is the Magic Tink Tint (£10)
A sort of lipstick/balm/gel crayon that turns a custom shade of pink on everyone. Oh this is beautiful. The consistency is amazing, moisturising but not too much slip, and I've seen on some blogs this looks like a real berry shade on some people, on me, that wasn't the case. For reference, it's a twist up pencil.
Swatched on my hand its a very sheer indeed pale pink. You've seen this pic before but now you know what that bottom stripe is :)
On my lips it turns this shade:
Love it. Of course because it's different on everyone, this is useless in terms of how it would look on you, but y'know, its good to share these things anyway, I love this.
All the colours in this range are designed to suit and flatter everyone and I have to say that I love the way all the shades look on me and I've worn the face palette every single day. Anyway, here's how I wore it one day last week.
This range couldn't be more up my street I have to say. I love everything and I've just ordered a few more bits from the collection too. The Fairy Dust, the Straight on Til Morning liner and the Catching Shadows crayon.
I honestly can't recommend this collection highly enough, in particular that palette. I am umming and ahhing about buying one to put away for Chloe as I think it would make a really lovely first make up kit for her when she is older. That doesn't mean it's childish though, it isn't. This is a truly beautiful product for all ages, which is the beauty of the products held within.
Available from Asos and of course http://www.pixibeauty.co.uk/. Speaking of which, I've been browsing the site and absolutely must have this Week of Wakeup Makeup Palette!
Does anything from this range take your fancy, I have to say its really opened up my eyes and now I really am interested in trying more Pixi stuff.
*Disclosure- PR Samples*
I think that's a lovely idea to put a palette away for Chloe. This one's not floating my boat I'm afraid, I really dislike the packaging, not a big fan of anything cutesy, even if that means I miss out on the great products inside!
ReplyDeleteAh I think its gorgeous but each to their own, it's certainly easy to understand that Tinkerbell isn't for everyone!
DeleteThese look like lovely products xxx May have to try some of these out x Had my eye on the succulent lip twin xx You have a lovely blog xx
ReplyDeleteWell now I'm going to have to go and check out the succulent lip twins!
DeleteI've never actually heard of the brand before but the packaging is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'd be very interested to try the eyeshadow if it comes without the lip colour.
It doesn't BUT they do do some fantastic eye palettes that don't have any lip products in x
DeleteNot familiar with this range at all, must be a UK exclusive? Anyway, what you've done with this palette is gorgeous. It's absolutely stunning on you and you really got lucky with that custom lip stick thingy. Those can be such a nightmare!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy and thanks for sharing :-)
There is a US site but I don't know if they would ship to you. Worth a look and thank you very much. xx
DeleteI have some of these to test too- that palette looks fab! xx
ReplyDeleteHow much of this stuff remind you of Clinique-type palettes? On first inclination I thought of Clinique, minus the fact that this one does have a beautiful outer case....
ReplyDeleteIt didn't remind me of Clinique at all but now you mention it I can see what you mean!
DeleteOh this is just gorgeous - the colours are so pretty and warm and suit you lots! I love the big palette, may have to hunt it down!
ReplyDeleteNic x
Yes I am so pleased to have it! It really is gorgeous and I'd have skipped it completely and missed out!
DeleteI love how you've utilised the palette! Stunning! I have been deliberating on whether to check this brand out but after seeing this post, I think I will! Thank you Charlie x
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely comment, thank you so much xx
