Sounds amazing. I'm particularly interested in the Vegan aspect. I'm not vegan, I'm not even vegetarian, but I do know it can be hard to find products if you are vegan so its great to find a brand I can tell my readers is completely vegan.
Ok, so INIKA Certified Organic Liquid Mineral Foundation itself isn't a new product, and was launched in 2009 but has recently had something of a make over. It is moisturising, contains Aloe vera, Tamanu Oil, Green Tea Extract now comes in a airless pump bottle and is stylishly packaged.
The foundation only comes in four shades and alas I the shade I have, Beige, wasn't quite right for me so I'm not going to show you this on my face, but I will talk about how it felt and behaved.
First of all here it is.
In the middle shot I think you can see it's a bit too orange for me whereas on the final picture there it blends in pretty well, alas it wasn't so good on my face and I had something of a tide mark. That's not a fault of the product of course, and I'm sure if I tried the paler shade, Cream, it would have been perfect colour wise.
Alas this isn't the foundation for me, like Ilamasqua this is one of those foundations that wants to cling to every single dry patch on my face and clumps up around my nose. There is something about "moisturising" foundations that don't agree with me. Although that said, if I use a moisturising primer they work pretty well.
The other thing about this foundation is that I found it really hard to work into my skin... it tends to move around on top of my skin for ages with blending before it does finally settle, and it does finally settle in and leaves a nice, natural, sheer finish.
This isn't the foundation for me because it doesn't really suit my skin type, but I don't really have a problem with the foundation and I think it would suit most people, the only other person I know who has this odd problem with clumping around their nose is Lipglossiping and I think we're in the minority... so if the ethics of this product really appeal to you I would recommend checking it out unless you've got a freaky nose!
£23.50 for 30ml

Hmm it's a funny with this foundation actually. For the first few times that I tried this, I absolutely loved it. It was pretty much like MAC's Face and Body but thicker. Recently however, it did appear blotchy when applied. I guess it's to do with how my skin's feeling at that point in time.
ReplyDeleteAh that is interesting, perhaps not just me then. Thanks for letting me know!
DeleteThis foundation was no good for me either, it was attracted the the dry patches on my cheeks, nose and forehead. I used my usual primer which is usually brilliant at covering my dry patches and pores but I found the foundation was too thin.
ReplyDeleteYeah unfortunately it doesn't like dry patches at all does it!
