Skin Art - Temporary Tattoos

Check out my new tattoo!
If you read the title of the post then you'll know that of course this isn't real. This is a rather fun temporary tattoo from Skin Art.

I was sent a selection of these to try out and I must say I've had a lot of fun with them.
There are several packs of designs available, of which I was sent three and design wise they are are absolutely inspired by current tattoo trends. This is both a good and a bad thing depending on which way you look at. Great if you want a tattoo thats bang on trend without committing to an inking for life that will be out of date in the not too distant future...not good at all if you want to be different from the crowds.

Easy to apply, you just need to cut your design out, peel off the clear plastic cover, stick to your skin and moisten the backing paper for a minute or two and then carefully remove and voila, your have your new tattoo.

These can last up to five days depending on where you apply them. I found that they start to fade and show signs of wear after about three days.

Up close, these clearly aren't real, from a distance and at a glance they could easily pass for real. I have had various comments while I've been trying them out ranging from "I nearly thought that was a real tattoo!" to "ooh when did you have that done!".

I'm a huge tattoo fan have been considering a third and I see a great possibility with this, in that they can really help you decide on placement if you are considering a real one.  For example, I've been considering a ladybird on my foot for quite some time now, I've now, thanks to these decided not to have a ladybird (if they are a common enough design to be in one of these packs then I don't want it) but it has helped me to make up my mind that I definitely do want something on my foot and where I'll put it when I do.

Anyway, you've seen the feather up at the top of my post, and here are a couple more.

A word of caution, if applying the words, do so extra carefully, as you can see just the slightest movement in the backing paper whilst you are wetting it can cause the line to go a  bit wonky... ironic really given the statement. ;)

Finally, just so you can compare with a real tattoo and see the difference....

These are fab fun, great for parties, festivals, trying out before taking the plunge and having a real tattoo, anything really. I've really enjoyed playing with these and still have loads left.

There are also glitter ones which I really fancy having a play with for extra fun... I also think Chloe, my daughter, would love the glitter ones as I always end up having to pay a fiver for her to have a glitter tattoo whenever we are on holiday!

These are available for £12 per pack from Boots.com

  1. Very cute. Always fun to try these things out. Maybe people should have to have a tempory tattoo for a while before having the real thing. Just so they are 100% sure on it

  2. love love love this. I am a massive fan of temporary tattos and for me this is the ulimate summer accessory. I love the feather and the dandelion clock design the best but I find it a little bit pricey. It's worth the price tag (even if I dont know how long it lasts on the skin) but it's a little beyond my budget. It's nice to dream though and in my dreams, I would have these tattoos on me x

  3. Temporary tattoos are the best way to show your fashion or love towards tattoos. We can remove them whenever we require and get a new tattoo again. In this way we can get the tattoos of our choice every time. This is a nice post about the temporary tattoo idea.
