Russell Organics Argan Oil

Russell Organics manufacture skin care, hair care, body care and wellness products and have a particularly ethical mission statement.

Products are, of course organic. In addition, they are are Certified Cruelty Free and Certified Vegan. Moreover, high quality ingredients are sourced globally, and are free of all known toxins...if that's not enough of a draw for you, packaging is minimal and recyclable, and if that still isn't enough for you then the company is a Carbon Free organisation, you can get more info on all of this on their website.

You may be forgiven for not having heard of the company if you are UK based (although they do have a customer base over here), but in 2013, that's all going to change.

Argan Oil is a modern day phenomenon, in the beauty world at least, becoming the latest must have ingredient in things like hair products. And I've gone along for the ride. I love my Argan based body oil. I love my Argan based hair products, but they are all mixed with other ingredients. I've not really managed to get my head around using just Argan Oil.

Russell Organics  pure Argan Oil has proved to be something of a revelation to me for several reasons, but first lets just run through some of it's uses. Add a couple of drops to the ends of your towel dried hair and style as usual. Use as a scalp treatment. Use as a moisturiser. Use as a nail oil. Use as a lip treatment. Basically, anywhere on your body that needs a little care, you can use this. As a multi use beauty product this is so cost effective, just one or two drops go a very long way.

I've not yet tried using this on my skin. I'm nervous to use anything on my skin at the moment, having found a regime that seems to work well for me. I have however used this regularly in other ways. Firstly on my hair.  It adds a touch of shine, it tames my fly aways, smooths out any split ends, generally helps my hair to look and feel like it's in great condition.

For me the true revelations have been in using it on my cuticles and lips. I blogged recently about how awful my lips have been in recent weeks, so bad I was unable  to share lip swatches of products....I tried every balm I had at my disposal (quite a few), all to no available... but now my lips are back to being soft and smooth. I've just used this morning and night and whenever I remembered throughout the day. It's brilliant!

Then for my cuticles which have been pretty bad for quite a long time now, not great for someone who works in the nail business! Again, I've just rubbed this into my cuticles morning and night. Dryness is banished. Completely! Better than any other cuticle oil I've ever tried.

This stuff is amazing, a total must have!

Oh I found this video which is quite informative so I thought I'd share.

You can get this here, which is in the USA, but please be aware they do ship overseas and there is a wealth of great looking products to making that shipping charge ($14 which is about £8.73) worthwhile. The Argan Oil is $28 (about £17.50) for 59ml.

  1. I'm in Australia but I purchased Russel's rosehip oil (it worked out to be cheaper than buying Sukin or Trilogy)and I love it. I also have this argan oil but was mystified with what to do with it until now. Thanks!
